Mechanical Engineer

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA) to be responsible for generating mechanical design calculations, including equipment and pipe sizing, as well as creating piping and instrumentation diagrams ("P&IDs") and Block Flow Diagrams; formulating design criteria for the development of project specifications and drawings, and generating specifications for systems and equipment; providing quality oversight for mechanical designs performed by others, acting as the main point of contact for the mechanical discipline during meetings with project managers, discipline leads, and customers; possessing the ability to train and mentor less experienced engineers and designers, coordinating design details and criteria with other disciplines; generating 3D modeling of pipe routing, ensuring optimal placement and adherence to design specifications; creating, verifying, and validating the accuracy of Equipment and Utilities Lists, as well as the Bill of Materials; using industrial engineering standards, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory guidelines in design and implementation processes; and utilizing Caesar II software to conduct stress analysis calculations along with other analysis in piping structures. Must hold Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must know (through academic training or work experience) Plant3D, Navisworks, Caesar II, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD; calculating velocity, load, stress, strain, forces on pipelines; assessing flow rates, pressure drop and turbulence; analyzing heat exchangers, boilers, and cooling systems; and defining the stresses on supports and pipes, selecting proper materials.If interested, send resumes to ....
