SUMMARY:
The desired candidate will supervise and manage people, equipment, and subcontractors to successfully complete the restoration of streams and wetlands. The project supervisor ensures that each project meets all safety, budgetary, quality, and legal requirements and will serve as the company representative for regulatory agency inspections during construction activities.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervise equipment operators and management of Mitigation Resources equipment at remotely located mitigation projects throughout the U.S. (Some mitigation projects may have 30 or more employees on-site during construction)
Coordinate construction activities, as it relates to ecological restoration, in compliance with engineered design criteria
Exercise discretion in making decisions that directly affect construction processes, timing, and costs necessary to meet mitigation project timelines
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements of mitigation projects
Schedule, direct, and manage all subcontractors
Serve as the company representative for regulatory agency inspections during construction activities
Perform administrative duties associated with supervision, such as recording time worked, evaluating individual performance, counseling or disciplining unacceptable behavior, and assisting individuals with personal or performance problems with the assistance of the Human Resources and Operations Manager
Maintain records of equipment hours and productivity to establish current and future production schedules and maintenance costs and predict equipment availability
Support construction of mitigation projects through assistance with equipment operation, installation of stream and wetland structures, as well as survey control
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of experience with the practices, techniques, and operation of construction equipment, with direct experience in the construction of engineered earthen structures; prior experience with project supervision preferred
Ability to obtain OSHA 30-hour, CPR, and first-aid safety training
Must be willing to work rotating shifts
Knowledge of safety protocols and the procedures used to control heavy equipment
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
Proven track record of meeting deadlines
Positive attitude and team-centered approach to problem solving
Must be able to work independently
Ability to travel to sites as needed
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
