Overview
We are seeking a licensed and highly experienced Journeyman Electrician to support electrical infrastructure at a secure computing facility in Boulder, Colorado. This role is ideal for a dependable and safety-conscious professional with a deep understanding of mission-critical electrical systems, including backup generators, UPS systems, and switchgear. The successful candidate will ensure 24/7 uptime and compliance with industry best practices and safety codes.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in a mission-critical secure computing center environment, including switchgear, and emergency power systems.
Interpret and work from electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance of electrical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Coordinate with HVAC, mechanical, and IT teams to support data center operations and planned changes.
Monitor and respond to alerts from Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS).
Troubleshoot complex electrical problems under pressure, adhering to strict uptime protocols and safety standards.
Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and records of all electrical work and inspections using CMMS tools.
Participate in on-call rotation and support emergency repair situations as required
Skills Required
Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License (required).
Minimum of 8 years of hands-on electrical experience, with at least 2 years in data center or critical facility environments (preferred).
Proficiency with electrical codes (NEC), safety protocols, and testing procedures.
Experience with UPS systems and backup generators.
Ability to read and interpret one-line electrical diagrams and wiring schematics.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must possess a DOD top secret clearance with SCI eligibility for work in a high-security facility.
Competitive salary ($115,000 - $135,000 depending on experience).
Education
The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma.
