Project Description

Advanced Support of Capital and Operating Projects in the Systems Business Unit.

50% Technical and 50% Administrative

Location: Brooklyn NY 50% Field and 50% Office environment

Right of Way Work is required

8AM- 5PM and/or 9PM - 6AM (max OT 16% if required)

Reports to - Senior Construction Manager-Systems C&D

Education Qualifications Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration and four (4) years' experience.

Experience Requirements

Two (2) years of experience supervising personnel performing project management functions, such as planning, administration, coordination, and oversight of engineering-related projects.

One (1) year of full-time, satisfactory experience conducting field inspections related to the design or construction of communication systems or infrastructure.

Special Skills Requirements

Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Ability to read and understand construction drawings.

Working knowledge and/or practical experience interpreting contract specifications and engineering drawings.

Familiarity with transit operating procedures preferred.

Familiarity with Auto CAD and company design standards and guidelines preferred.

Description of Work

Provide engineering support to the Construction Managers for the execution and oversight of capital construction projects.

A 30 Hour Occupational Safety & Health Administration Certification prior to participating in work on the track or on or near the wayside.

Conduct reviews of engineering drawings, and Requests for Information.

Manage a range of construction administration processes, including progress payments, project scheduling, cost estimating, and the review and processing of additional work orders.

Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of project documentation, including spreadsheets, scopes of work, cost estimates, change orders, and budget modifications; organize project files and records; coordinate Technical Assistance for Local (TAL) services; and draft construction-related correspondence.

Coordinate daily project management activities on behalf of the Construction Manager in accordance with company Project Management Procedures and Guidelines.

Collaborate with the Construction Manager to achieve project objectives.

Participate in project coordination meetings with stakeholders; prepare detailed meeting minutes; and track follow-up on action items to ensure timely resolution.

Manage the coordination and scheduling of field visits, site surveys, and inspections to support project execution and compliance monitoring.

Perform field inspections of contractor work to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards and participate in field surveys to support project planning and execution.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager.

Other Work Requirements

One day New York City Transit Track Safety Training Course required prior to beginning work on or near the wayside. Certification must be maintained for the duration of this assignment.

Have safety work boots meeting specifications prior to work on or near the wayside at no cost to the company.

We will allow 10 hours OSHA prior to joining and 30 hours within 90 days of employment. Company does not provide OSHA training it is the contractor's responsibility.
