Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The role involves engaging with leads and customers to comprehend project scope and requirements, and reviewing project documents such as drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and schematics. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for plumbing, HVAC, piping, and sheet metal systems, developing quantity take-offs, and producing material and labor cost breakdowns. Additionally, you will prepare and submit Request for Proposals (RFPs) and bid packages, identify and solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare comparison analyses.

  • Contact and follow up with leads and customers to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Review and analyze project documents including drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and schematics.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for plumbing, HVAC, piping, and sheet metal systems.
  • Develop quantity take-offs and material/labor cost breakdowns.
  • Prepare and submit Request for Proposals (RFPs) and bid packages in a timely manner.
  • Identify and solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers; prepare comparison analyses.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing databases.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure alignment on project scope and cost.
  • Track and manage bid status, follow up on submitted bids, and assist in project handoff to operations.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Construction experience
  • 2+ years of Estimating experience
  • Proficiency in Excel/Quotesoft and/or Sage software
  • Strong Sheet Metal and/or Plumbing experience on commercial projects
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare, K-12, or data center projects
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with change orders and preconstruction processes
Work Environment

This role is based in an office setting. Employees enjoy a family-like atmosphere in a smaller company, where they are considered a vital part of the team. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $62.50/hr.
