As a Mechanical Design Engineer on the PBCS team, you will be responsible for ensuring the design meets our technical and design requirements. You will ensure our designs adhere to Common Integrated Processes as documented in Command Media, and drive process improvement into the design culture. Provide solution based technical mentoring to improve program performance and to drive error free design using proven tools, processes and predictive measures.

Further, develop layouts, define interfaces and design components from aerospace refractory metallics. Experience in metal machining, additive machining, welding, and refractory metals are preferred.

Travel may be required.

Experience with FBM design processes.
Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Command Media related to system design and analyses.
Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, Integration and Test. Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP and design tools.
Knowledgeable at a systems level in the areas of stress, propulsion, harness routing, strength of materials, subcontracts, electrical design/analysis, software, transportation, and launch operations.
Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers.
Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality)
Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
