Overview

SSOE is looking for a Project Manager for our Automotive & Manufacturing Facilities Group. This person will play a critical role in winning and executing projects for a diverse list of leading-edge clients. As a Project Manager, you will lead single and multi-disciplinary design teams in both small and medium projects from scope development to commissioning and start-up.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Manages single and multi-disciplinary project(s), overseeing all discipline leads assigned to projects.
  • Adheres to the project schedules and the financial success of assigned project(s).
  • Prepares fee proposals and contract negotiations with input from Principal-in-Charge (PIC).
  • Establishes project scope of work in coordination with Discipline Leads and Department Managers including: planning of work, design concepts/design direction, determining discipline type, and the number of tasks to be performed. Communicate to Department Management the staff capabilities needed to fit specific project(s).
  • Prepares and executes the project plan, establishes control procedures, monitors progress, and takes corrective action as may be required.
  • Prepares and monitors the project budget and schedule.
  • Follows established procedures to effectively administer project (i.e., construction cost estimating, correspondence, document control, etc.).
  • Contracts outside consultants/services as needed.
  • Interfaces with political subdivision inspection and regulatory agencies.
  • Communicates client requirements to each discipline.
  • Coordinates meetings and establishes document control procedures with internal staff, client, contractors, regulatory agencies and others involved.
  • Reviews and approves client billings.
  • Performs a prime role in client contact and business development activities. Serves as a lead participant in presentations for new or prospective work.
  • May assist in the training or the mentoring of other Project Managers to familiarize them with SSOE or the client-specific requirements.
  • Follows established change management procedures to document and receive authorization for project change orders in a timely manner.
  • May travel to other SSOE facilities and/or client locations for coordination purposes or to provide training.

Qualifications

Qualifications Youll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Engineering / Construction Management preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the design and construction industry, with at least two (2) years in Project Management.
  • Previous experience in an AEC or engineering consulting company preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.
