Senior Project Manager

Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage a larger volume of projects with varying levels of complexity. You will oversee concurrent projects, ensuring strategic direction and alignment with organizational and executive objectives, ultimately contributing to improved operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex projects across multiple sectors and lines of business.
  • Provide on-site leadership, building and motivating team members to meet project goals.
  • Ensure all projects align with strategic objectives and report on project success criteria.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction cost management and project financial projections.
  • Identify scope creep, mitigate risk, and communicate design errors and project change orders.
  • Sell project change orders effectively, increasing margin.
  • Work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments, demonstrating teamwork and innovation.
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to enhance organizational capabilities.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases.
  • Coordinate with general superintendents and foremen to review revised project labor hours and set completion expectations.
  • Procure resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and resources, communicating additional requirements to leadership.
  • Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
  • Provide status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Analyze adherence to detailed project execution processes.
  • Act as internal quality control for projects and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
  • Support formal and informal schedules to manage engagement contracts.
  • Ensure project specifications for installations are understood by the project team.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of projects, including planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budgets, changes, risks, and issues.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams.
  • Deliver effective executive-level communication.
  • Ensure projects proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in a project management role, preferably in the electrical construction industry.
  • 5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle and understanding of development lifecycle and methodologies.
  • Journeyman or master electrical license.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, decisive, and adaptable to change.
  • Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, Blue Beam.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Proven success in leading projects and programs to completion on time and within budget.
Work Environment

The work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, depending on the job site. The company offers a family-like atmosphere, caring for its employees even during economic downturns. Employees are never laid off in winter, and they consistently work at least 40 hours per week. The company is growing rapidly, turning away work due to high demand.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/hr.
