Electrical Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of complex projects within multiple sectors. This role entails strategic direction and management of projects to align with organizational objectives, enhancing operational and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex projects spanning multiple sectors and lines of business.
  • Provide on-site leadership by building and motivating team members to achieve project goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones.
  • Ensure alignment of multiple related projects to strategic objectives.
  • Report on project success criteria, results, metrics, and deployment management activities.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction costs and project financial projections.
  • Accurately project costs by phase code relating to materials and labor hours.
  • Identify scope creep areas, mitigate risks, manage design errors and change orders, and communicate these to the project team.
  • Successfully sell project change orders and increase margins.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases.
  • Coordinate with general superintendents and foremen to review revised project labor hours and set completion expectations.
  • Procure resources to meet project objectives within planned timeframes.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities and communicate additional requirements with leadership.
  • Monitor staff performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • Provide status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Follow detailed processes for project execution and analyze adherence with leadership.
  • Act as an internal quality control check and manage ongoing quality control.
  • Assist in dispute resolution, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
  • Support schedule management to maintain engagement contracts.
  • Understand project specifications and ensure team compliance.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of projects including planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, and critical path deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project teams.
  • Deliver executive-level communications effectively.
  • Ensure projects proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Conduct research into project-related issues and products.
  • Learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
  • Support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry
  • Journeyman or master electrical license preferred.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, presentation), and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and decisive, with adaptability to change and competing demands.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, Blue Beam.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending changes.
  • Proven track record of leading projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Experience in team building and management, with internal and external resources.
  • Experience in influencing and gaining buy-in from executives and stakeholders.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Experience with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFI's, submittals, take-offs, and buyouts.
  • E1/E2 electrical license preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in commercial, healthcare, and multifamily project types.
Work Environment

This position is full-time and primarily office-based with occasional visits to job sites. The work is typically centered in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
