Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer

About this role: The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain effective manufacturing and process controls. This role focuses on ensuring product conformance to internal, customer, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in quality processes. Key responsibilities include managing nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, internal audits, and supplier quality activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Process Support :
    • Partner with Production Process Owners to develop, document, and maintain efficient manufacturing and process controls.
    • Assess and refine procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy, adequacy, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, and other departments to improve and validate process changes.
  • Inspection and Testing :
    • Develop inspection plans and identify inspection and test equipment needs.
    • Recommend changes to procedures or work instructions to improve effectiveness.
  • Nonconformance and Corrective Actions :
    • Investigate nonconformances identified internally or reported by customers. Assess the extent of issues and contribute to remediation.
    • Monitor trends in nonconformances to identify opportunities for process improvements.
    • Facilitate corrective action activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Supplier Quality Management :
    • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and administer Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs) when necessary.
    • Work with suppliers to implement effective solutions and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
  • Audit Participation :
    • Schedule and participate in internal audits, leading audit results meetings to drive compliance and improvements.
    • Contribute to external and recertification audits as needed.
  • Documentation and Compliance :
    • Support the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
    • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement :
    • Analyze data to identify and act on opportunities for quality and process enhancements.
    • Collaborate across departments to evaluate the effectiveness of process changes.
  • General Responsibilities :
    • Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Quality Assurance Engineer Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a decision-making Quality role.

Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary range for this role is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 on an annual basis.
