Controls Assistant Project Manager Location: San Jose, CA Job Summary We seek an experienced and detail-oriented Controls Assistant Project Manager to join our San Jose, CA team. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful delivery of commercial mechanical construction projects, specifically focusing on building automation systems (BAS), including BACnet and DDC controls. You will collaborate closely with senior project managers and clients to ensure seamless execution of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and energy management systems projects. Key Responsibilities Assist in the planning, coordinating, and managing control system projects from start to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. Collaborate with engineers and subcontractors to design and implement control systems, including Tridium Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, ALC, and other BAS platforms. Oversee project documentation using AutoCAD, Visio, and other industry-standard tools, ensuring all designs and plans meet client specifications and local codes. Manage communication with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project progression and address any technical issues related to BACnet, DDC controls, and building automation. Maintain a stable work history and strong local ties, contributing to long-term, regional project success in San Jose. Qualifications? Bache l or's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Three or more years of experience in project management or control systems, specifically in the commercial mechanical construction industry.Profic iency in AutoCAD and Visio; experience working with BACnet and DDC control systems is essential.Famili arity with major building automation systems (Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, Johnson Controls Metasys, etc.).Strong communication skills and experience in client-facing roles, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines. Prefe r red Qualifications An EI T or PE License is a plus, though it is not required.Local and stable work history with a proven successful project delivery track record.
