Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Resources (NEER) is building a Renewable Technology Innovation team to transform how we develop utility-scale solar and wind projects and were looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong analytical skills to help lead the charge. This team serves as a center of excellence, driving innovation, optimizing processes, and ensuring best practices are shared across the organization. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution one day youll pilot new technology, while another youll lead process improvement workshops. Its ideal for someone who thrives on out-of-the-box thinking, turning ideas into action, and working across teams to make projects smarter, faster, and more efficient.
What Youll Do:
- Drive Innovation: Implement new technologies and process improvements to enhance portfolio performance, accelerating timelines and improving project returns
- Feasibility & Impact Assessment: Evaluate the commercial viability and risks of new technologies and solutions, ensuring their integration into NEERs development processes.
- Optimize Processes: Streamline development workflows and standardize best practices to improve efficiency and execution across the portfolio.
- Facilitate Change Management: Lead the adoption of new processes and technologies,ensuring smooth transitions through training, engagement, and support.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, source impactful solutions and ensure alignment across the organization
- Leadership Engagement: Prepare and present insights, recommendations and status updates to senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment and buy-in.
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in the utility-scale solar and wind with a strong analytical background.
- Masters degree preferred (e.g., Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field).
Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
