Project Manager- Heavy Civil Construction

SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing construction projects from pre-construction to completion while ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with safety to ensure safety programs are established and executed
  • Financial monitoring and reporting including cost monitoring, cost and revenue projections, change order logs, under/overbilling reports, invoicing, vendor and subcontractor invoicing review and approval
  • Work with project superintendents to identity applicable equipment @types, personnel skill sets, means, methods, and schedule as required
  • Manage and update receiving and yield reports
  • Maintain cost accounting, schedule impacts, fully authorized change order logs, and communication logs
  • Submit quarterly cost to complete projections
  • Keep change order log up to date
  • Coordinate equipment acquisitions
  • Subcontract committed costs tracking
  • Estimating review to understand strategies, risks, and opportunities
  • Pre-construction planning with project team
  • Review and procure any permits or licensing required
  • Sub-contractor scope and schedule review
  • Project documentation including submittals, RFI's, meeting minutes, work plans
  • Project closeout including final documentation, invoicing, retainage release

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred)
  • At least 5 years industry experience, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working on heavy civil, DOT
  • Ability to read and understand of contracts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and good organization skills
  • Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally
  • Proficient in Computer applications such as Microsoft and time reporting systems
  • Functional knowledge of job cost accounting
  • Travel May be Required
