Key Responsibilities:
- Design electric and/or gas infrastructure for new or expanded services and system upgrades.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements to ensure cost-effective and compliant designs.
- Develop and deliver accurate preliminary cost estimates and project proposals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including developers, contractors, engineering firms, local agencies, and utility partners.
- Facilitate customer engagement throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present financial agreements and ensure the accuracy and completeness of contracts.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with inspectors, foremen, and service managers to align on project execution.
- Participate in the after-hours rotational on-call supervisor program and support emergency restoration efforts as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD-based design tools
- Experience in utility, construction or engineering design/drafting, and/or civil engineering principles
- Experience with power distribution and construction estimating is a plus
- Ability to interpret and apply utility standards and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction and cost estimation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong initiative and leadership qualities; proactive in seeking out new tasks and responsibilities
