We Require
Two years of professional experience in contract administration, grant-funded program management, or oversight of strategic projects
Bachelors degree in business administration, public administration, public health, project management, or a closely related field
A combination of post-secondary education and directly related work experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Within one month of hire, employees must provide documented evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable diseases, including MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (pertussis and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza. Certain positions may also require Hepatitis B vaccination and/or Tuberculosis testing, as applicable per Maricopa County Department of Public Health policy.

Masters degree in business administration, public administration, public health, or a closely related field
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
Two or more years of supervisory experience
Three or more years of experience administering a variety of grants (e.g., federal, state, local, or private)
Proficiency in one or more of the following systems: Board of Supervisors Agenda Management System (Solar II/Hyland), Advantage Financial System, OnBase, Webgrants
Experience with federal grant reporting and submission platforms, including grants.gov, SAM.gov, FSRS.gov, NACCHO, HRSA EHB, ELCCamp, GrantSolutions, and FEMA GO
Job Contributions
Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned staff, including workload distribution, performance management, training, and participation in recruitment and hiring processes
Lead the development and implementation of procedures for full-cycle grant managementincluding identification of funding opportunities, proposal submission, contract execution, and post-award compliance
Oversee contract and grant deliverables by facilitating planning sessions, providing technical guidance, tracking progress, and coordinating internal and external stakeholder communication to support strategic public health goals
Ensure contract and grant activities are compliant with federal, state, and county regulations, including timely and accurate submission of required reports and deliverables
Foster collaboration across public health programs to align resources and maximize community health outcomes
Facilitate regular communication with grant program leads and administrative staff through routine meetings and reporting
Maintain ongoing communication with the Grant Unit Manager regarding program progress, staff performance, compliance status, and operational issues
Participate in leadership meetings and represent the unit in discussions with executive-level stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental goals and public health priorities
Working Conditions
This position primarily works in an office setting with a telework option
May be subject to working non-standard hours or days based on need
Must be able to work under stressful conditions related to death and disease
Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
