About the Role:
As a Carpenter/Concrete Finisher at Transition Construction, you'll play a vital role in bringing our innovative designs to life. You'll be involved in all aspects of the construction process, from formwork and concrete placement to finish carpentry and project completion ensuring deadlines and budget considerations are met. Must be willing to travel from different sites in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. MUST have Valid Driver's License and a reliable vehicle.
Responsibilities
Precision Cutting, Forming and Installation: Shape lumber materials to prescribed measurements with precision using handsaw,
power saw, chisel or plane. Nail lumber together to form panels. Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated
forms.
Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints when necessary.
Concrete Formwork: Construct, erect, and install concrete forms, ensuring accurate dimensions and proper reinforcement. Layout
and install embeds.
Concrete Finishing: Finishing concrete surfaces in skateparks and municipal projects to specified tolerances.
Material Handling & Site Maintenance: Safely lift and transport materials up to 50 lbs, maintain a clean and organized work
site, and adhere to all safety protocols.
Safety First: Follow all safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to a safe working
environment.
Punctuality and Reliability: Be punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
Teamwork & Communication: Collaborate effectively with team members, communicate clearly, and maintain a high standard of professionalism as a Transition Construction representative.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in carpentry or concrete finishing within the construction industry.
Skills:
oProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
oStrong knowledge of concrete formwork techniques.
oAbility to safely operate power tools and hand tools.
oExcellent organization, problem-solving and communication skills.
oAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
oPhysical fitness to handle the demands of an active construction site, including repetitive lifting, bending, and standing.
oAbility to work in harsh weather conditions
Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
Tools: Own basic hand tools and PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety vest, tool belt, etc.).
