HIRING - Red Seal Carpenter - General Construction Company

Somerhill Construction Ltd. is a Vancouver based dynamic general contracting firm specializing in residential renovations and commercial tenant improvements (TI). We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional results and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. We are currently seeking a skilled Red Seal Carpenter who is also versatile as a handyman to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry tasks including framing, finishing, cabinetry work, and building envelope upgrades for residential and commercial projects.
- Carry out handyman duties such as minor plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance tasks as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to meet project requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes throughout all tasks.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and in good working order.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project managers regarding project progress and any issues that arise.

Qualifications:
- Valid Red Seal Certification in Carpentry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in carpentry and handyman services.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial renovation practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- A valid drivers license
- First aid certification is an asset
