Estimating Manager (Construction / HVAC)

Location: Portland, OR (downtown)
Pay: $160K - $180K + vehicle stipend

What Youll Do:

As the Estimating Manager, youll oversee the daily operations of the estimating department. This includes managing personnel, coordinating bid schedules, reviewing estimates, conducting post-bid reviews, producing conceptual drawings, and maintaining a department resource library. Youll work closely with trade partners, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of estimates and successful project outcomes.

What You Need to Have:

• 
  Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  
• 
  10+ years of estimating experience
  
• 
  Strong background in mechanical systems, plumbing, and HVAC
  
• 
  Advanced proficiency in Excel and modern quoting software
  
• 
  Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  
• 
  Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  

The Musts:

• 
  Familiarity with ductwork manufacturing and SMACNA standards
  
• 
  Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  
• 
  Experience in training and developing team members
  
• 
  Experience with modern construction quoting software
  
• 
  Creative and collaborative team player
  

Preferred:

• 
  Engineering or design background specific to piping/plumbing mechanical systems
  
• 
  Previous management of estimating teams in a mechanical contracting environment
