Civil Design Engineer

We are seeking Civil Design and Civil Engineering professionals, or emerging professionals, for our Land Development Group located in Greensboro, NC. As a regional-based engineering consultant, we are committed to fostering growth and development in our team members.

Responsibilities

• Design portions of projects using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills, utilizing computers to solve problems.
• Prepare specifications materials through research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection, and payment of items specific to a project.
• Work to complete design details and plan sets.
• Perform research and write objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work or inspection.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by engineering staff.
• Communicate with client staff and internal design team as directed by engineering staff.

• Proficiency in Civil 3D technology.
• Experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development and site development.
• Knowledge of Civil Design and Civil Drafting.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field preferred, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience.
• At least two years of experience in Land Development civil engineering, including residential neighborhood design and commercial and mixed-use development.
• EIT preferred.
• Working knowledge of CADD and Civil 3D software, with Civil 3D preferred.

The work environment offers the opportunity to work in a small firm with 10-15 individuals, allowing professionals to become more well-rounded as engineers or designers. This exposure to diverse responsibilities expedites personal and professional growth. The preferred office location is Greensboro, NC, but candidates may also work out of the Asheville or Charlotte offices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
