Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects for a contractor specializing in self-perform work. This role requires expertise in municipal projects, K-12 schools, water and wastewater treatment plants, and ground-up building construction. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes while maintaining strong client relationships and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction to closeout.

Oversee self-perform work, ensuring efficient allocation of labor, equipment, and materials.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project specifications are met.

Manage permitting, inspections, and compliance with municipal regulations and building codes.

Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Lead project meetings, fostering clear communication and resolving issues promptly.

Ensure safety protocols are implemented and maintained on all job sites.

Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.

Deliver high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a contractor performing self-perform work.

Demonstrated experience managing municipal projects, K-12 schools, water and wastewater treatment plants, and ground-up building construction.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods, particularly in self-perform environments.

Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project teams effectively.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar).

Bachelors degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM, or OSHA 30) are a plus.

Preferred Skills

Experience working with public sector clients and navigating municipal permitting processes.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract administration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47.00 - $57.00/hr.
