Were looking for a construction laborer with a lets do this attitude whos ready to jump in, work hard and grow with our team. This is a full-time role based in Bellingham, Washington. Youll support site prep, grading and paving work for homes, land development projects and commercial builds in Whatcom and Skagit counties. No two days will be the same; youll end each day proud of the work youve completed.
Job functions:
Prep tools and load trucks each day.
Transport and set up equipment.
Clean and prepare construction sites.
Use hand tools to rake, sweep, shovel, backfill and compact materials.
Assist equipment operators and crew with jobsite tasks.
Wash and clean trucks and equipment.
Organize tools and equipment.
Run errands, order and pick up supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
One or more years dirt work experience and/or on the ground as part of a construction crew.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Clean driving record and valid Washington State drivers license.
Able to pass a drug test.
Must have reliable transportation and a cellphone.
Physical stamina and strength; able to perform manual labor.
Able to pick up and move at least 50 pounds.
Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Able to work in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred (not required):
Experience working on an asphalt paving crew.
Experience operating construction equipment.
Skills and traits:
Follow instructions, including all safety procedures and protocols.
Sharp eye, notice details, able to perform detail orientated work.
Dependable and on time.
Excellent communication, observation and listening skills.
Work schedule:
Full-time, 30+ per week.
Shifts are typically between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and overtime.
Compensation and work perks:
$25+ per hour, depending on experience.
Home every night with most weekends off.
Seven paid holidays per year.
Sick pay accrual.
