Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking a Project Manager to support a complex, fast pace, dynamic program environment in the Technical Security Systems Group (9246).

This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project and product lifecycle management.
  • Plan and execute complex science and/or engineering projects to include, but not limited to data analysis, cost estimating, projections, monitoring and controlling cost/schedule, may lead cross functional teams of scientists and engineers.
  • Makes technical and programmatic decisions regarding the direction of a project and is held accountable for the results of those decisions.
  • Often serves as a primary interface to customers and sponsors, especially for product delivery.
  • Works with project personnel and partners with the extended project team, including customers, sponsors, and suppliers, to ensure that the project is fully and properly integrated.
  • Identifies and addresses both technical and non-technical risks, opportunities, and other issues that impact product delivery.
  • Recommends changes to improve product lifecycle management, engineering and technical project management processes.
  • This individual will partner closely with a wide variety of individuals to include technical teams, leads, and management in a high rigor environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus five years or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of degree must be directly related experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing successful technical projects throughout all phases.
    Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to develop and articulate a strategic plan and successfully implement it to deliver desired results.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Project management education and/or certification(s).
  • Proficiency in schedule/cost tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management principles and methodology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize, establish priorities, lead, and execute assignments to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and challenging priorities.
  • Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and integrate well and partner with management, customers and stakeholders, and science and engineering technical management and staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience with standard project management practices for technical work including project plan development and control, scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, project staffing, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management.
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with scoping, designing, planning, and executing research, design, and development projects.

Physical Demands:

  • If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sub-contractor you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
  • If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sub-contractor, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
