Purpose of Position

Under general supervision, assembling and fabricating orders for customers according to their specifications

Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:

• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.
• Produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications.
• Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment

Qualifications

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of various welding techniques, including aluminum TIG welding, oxy-fuel welding, and arc welding.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skilled in both mechanical and manual welding practices.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Effective problem solving ability
