Summary: The Project Manager position will assist in design of, and lead Trident's Alaska Engineering Group implementation of Mechatronics projects throughout Alaska. This individual will be responsible for planning, execution, risk management, communications, project budgeting and financial controls of entire or assigned aspects of projects across a broad range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the completion of assigned project activities and milestones according to schedule, budget and within quality standards while maintaining good partner, customer, and vendor relationships in accordance with Trident Seafood's Core Values.
- Develops and maintains master equipment lists to track all major Trident shore plant assets, including maintenance history, planned maintenance, and repair and maintenance schedules for each.
- Participates in capital project planning to assess capital improvement needs and determines scope, budget, and timelines.
- Assists in establishing and oversees regular inspection cadence and makes recommendations based on outcome. Reviews and controls project costs to ensure project completion on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established goals.
- Provides project status and financial updates as requested. Reports significant deviations from the project plan on a timely basis.
- Develops, coordinates, and manages project plan and scheduling to ensure that deliverables are consistent with the required scope of the project.
- Maintains records of maintenance costs for each vessel and shore plant including parts and personnel costs.
- Collaborates with regulatory agencies as requested to confirm compliance with required programs and ensures permits are current.
- Assists with development of critical spares lists and tracks/maintains lists
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
- Experience balancing both short- and long-term objectives. Supports, promotes, and ensures work and progress alignment with the departments overall vision, objectives, and end goal.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years' project or program management; proven track record for successful delivery of projects
- Will be required to work in Alaska and operation sites 25% during the project.
- Project Management certification (PMP) and demonstrated core project management skills or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in maritime or marine engineering field or combination of education and additional experience
- Proficient with project management approaches, tools, and techniques.
- Previous management level experience in machinery or vessel maintenance roles, or 5+years relevant marine engineering experience
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
Preferred Experience
- Courses in Six Sigma, Lean, Risk Management strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, workshop facilitation, and the ability to build long lasting relationships with team members.
