Employer:** Demo NA Technical Center Inc.**Title:** Surface Treatment Development Manager**Location:** 30150 Telegraph Road, Suite 158, Bingham Farms, MI 48025**Job Duties:**- Provide technical and economic expertise for Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) metallization to the sales team.- Define the layout of the production process, which includes ensuring the production will be compliant with the specific specifications provided by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). - Define the proprietary PVD recipe that must be used, including the specific requirements to obtain the customer's specified color, which metal to be used for the process, the specific coating(s) that need to be applied before and after the metallization process, and other specific elements of the "recipe" required to offer our customized product offerings. - Provide economic/business expertise by defining the production cycle time, cost of the metallization process, and other factors of critical importance to both the organization and our customers.- Provide technical expertise to the sales team regarding specific injection processes of in-mold decoration, MuCell injection or foaming, and Galvano and laser grain finish.- Provide expertise when a RFQ is received regarding a specific process with Mucell technology, or other Demo technologies. - Conduct feasibility analysis regarding the design and process and find an alternative solution to achieve the OEM's requested specifications.- Provide technical and economic expertise to address customer complaints.```{=html}```- In the event of a complaint or other issue during either the quotation phase, or the serial life of the product, perform in-depth analysis of the issue and offer solutions based on in-depth knowledge of the Demo technologies and processes involved. - Develop an action plan to adapt an existing Demo process to suit the customer's needs.- Analyze the feasibility of an identified solution, and determine all business/economic aspects of the modified process, including cycle times and costs. - Using knowledge of the PVD application, provide critical support to the sales team regarding PVD process.```{=html}```- Serve as the subject matter expert and directly support the U.S. sales team in providing accurate quotations and analysis.- Manage the development of the PVD process, base coat and top-coat based on local market specifications and/or specific requests of customers.```{=html}```- Analyze customer requirements and determine the proper base coat and top coat combinations, while managing the process to secure the necessary coating products and ingredients from either local suppliers or foreign parent company (which produces coating solutions specific to the Demo PVD process). - Rely upon advanced knowledge of the PVD process, and complimentary coating process, to ensure coating materials are fully compatible. - Manage the research and development of new and innovative solutions based on market and customer needs.```{=html}```- Evaluate customer requirements and demands, industry trends, Demo research and development (R&D) initiatives, cutting-edge technologies, etc. in order to ensure the Demo organization is continuously competitive within the industry, evolving our products and technologies, etc. - Manage research activities with the R&D department and directly contribute to the development of new processes and technologies.- Supervise Surface Treatment Technicians.** Job Requirements:**Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Commercial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.4 years of experience with plastic, paint, PVD, and surface finish for the automotive indu
