Mechanical Engineer

### **Position Summary:**The Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, and improves electric motor components and systems to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals. This role works closely with production, quality, and applications engineering to support both new product development and continuous improvement across existing product lines. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in mechanical design and an understanding of electric motor assemblies or rotating equipment.------------------------------------------------------------------------### **Key Responsibilities:**- Design and validate mechanical components and assemblies for electric motors, including housings, shafts, bearings, and cooling systems.- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.- Perform tolerance analyses, material selection, and manufacturability reviews in collaboration with production teams.- Conduct engineering calculations related to stress, torque, thermal performance, and fit.- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product failures or field returns.- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), design records, and engineering change notices.- Participate in prototype builds, testing, and product validation.- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., NEMA, UL, ISO 9001).------------------------------------------------------------------------### **Qualifications:**- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.- 3+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), GDandT, and mechanical drafting practices.- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.*******EOE, including disability/vet***
