General Laborer

General Laborer Job Description We are seeking multiple entry-level candidates to perform a variety of tasks including demolition, assisting carpenters, unloading and staging materials, installing fire collars, duct work, fittings, and general HVAC installation work. This hands-on position involves heavy lifting and various production duties. Ideal candidates will possess great attendance, a positive attitude, and basic construction knowledge. Responsibilities Perform general construction labor, including cleaning and preparing job sites, moving materials by hand, and cleaning up rubble and debris after work completion. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds of material. Construct or dismantle scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures for the construction site. Assist craft workers such as carpenters or HVAC Service Technicians with their duties. Operate hand and power tools of all types. Assist in sheet metal fabrication and product creation when new construction jobs are slow. Essential Skills Basic knowledge of construction and installation processes. Ability to read blueprints and use hand and power tools. Mechanically inclined with general labor skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications 0-5 years of experience in general construction or outdoor labor work. Ability to lift 70 lbs and perform strenuous outdoor work in exposed weather conditions. Compliance with all field safety rules. Ability to listen to and collaborate with supervisors to perform tasks safely. Basic math skills to read tape measures and calculate cuts, breaks, and general construction duties. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. New Prague offers a 4-10 schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with no Saturdays, and potential for overtime depending on the project. Projects include locations such as New Prague Apartments, Hopkins Nursing Home, and Fridley Krispy Kreme. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Big Lake, Minnesota. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
