We're looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to take a lead role in designing innovative HVAC and plumbing systems while mentoring a talented team of engineers (projects can include: commercial, hospitality, high-rises, mixed-use buildings). This is a high-impact position at Ingenuity Engineers where technical excellence meets leadership - ideal for someone ready to guide complex projects, influence department standards, and help shape the future of our mechanical design practice. Key Responsibilities: Lead the analysis and application of advanced mechanical theory, calculations, and system integration. Interpret codes, standards, and design inputs with the ability to apply them within the design and discuss compliance and requirements with code officials. Independently develop calculations, design narratives, and work plans that serve as the basis for HVAC system designs and project specifications Serve as Engineer of Record for projects developed under their direction. Review the work of others and provide specific guidance to the project team to further the design. Proactively identify and resolve workflow issues, ensuring smooth project progress and addressing challenges before they impact the schedule or deliverables. Mentor and develop associates with less experience, providing guidance and training to support their professional development. Apply advanced engineering principles to solve technical and coordination issues. Manage project designs and budgets with limited oversight. Attend internal and client coordination meetings with the ability to give direction, make technical decisions, and ensure project goals are met Conduct site visits and investigations as required. Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals, ensuring long-term client satisfaction. Display leadership and management abilities. Provide cross-disciplinary technical and engineering assistance. Contribute to business development efforts by participating in client presentations and identifying new opportunities. Take personal ownership of the work produced, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards, while continuously striving to enhance processes and performance across the department. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Extensive proven relevant technical expertise, with demonstrated leadership and hands-on field experience in mechanical engineering projects. Previous experience leading high-performing teams, managing client relationships, and driving business development in a consulting or A/E firm environment. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, energy calculation software, and other design-related tools used in mechanical system design. Experience using Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and other basic software. Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate with senior management, clients, and external stakeholders. In-depth understanding of the components of the plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the mechanical design. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed. Willingness and ability to travel as needed for project meetings, site visits, or client engagements.
