Senior Mechanical Engineer - Project Manager

Mechanical Project Manager Overview An experienced Mechanical Project Manager is sought to oversee all phases of mechanical systems design and project execution. This role requires technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The ideal candidate will drive project performance from concept through construction while delivering technical excellence, team coordination, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership Lead mechanical design and engineering for facility projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and code compliance. Oversee project lifecycle from initial proposals to construction closeout, managing scope, schedule, and budget. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and consultants to integrate mechanical systems effectively within the overall project. Prepare and review complete documentation including mechanical plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports. Conduct system evaluations, calculations, and troubleshooting as part of technical problem-solving. Coordinate and manage internal and external design resources to maintain project timelines and deliverables. Technical Execution Perform detailed HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layout using current design tools. Design and specify HVAC, chilled water, DX, and ventilation systems along with plumbing and fire protection components. Select mechanical equipment such as chillers, air handlers, pumps, VAV systems, and controls. Interpret building and mechanical codes, standards, and best practices (ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, IPC, IMC, etc.). Review contractor submittals and resolve field-related technical issues during construction. Client Engagement & Business Development Serve as the primary client contact for mechanical systems-related matters, ensuring satisfaction and relationship continuity. Participate in business development initiatives including proposal preparation, scope definition, and fee estimation. Represent the firm at client meetings, industry events, and project coordination sessions.
