A Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This role involves supporting the structural design and analysis of civil/structural systems for construction projects by preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.

responsibilities:
Level I:
- Assist in design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil/structural components and processes.
- Help prepare construction drawings, project schedules, models, and calculations.
- Conduct steel and concrete calculations and create material requisitions.
- Review manufacturer drawings for compliance.
- Contribute to the design of minor structures or parts of buildings.
- Maintain technical logs and records.
- Plan and design layouts for structures (small structures, roads, railroads, etc.).
- Perform detailed structural analysis (statics, dynamics, materials).
- Choose appropriate materials (steel, wood, concrete, masonry) based on load requirements.
- Prepare structural deliverables: calculations, specs, material requisitions.
- Create 2D/3D CAD drawings and presentation graphics.
- Perform technical bid evaluations and procurement documentation.
- Review and approve design data and drawings.
- Support interdisciplinary coordination and quantity takeoffs.
- Participate in conceptual studies, reports, and proposals.
- Assist in constructability reviews.
- Knowledge of AISC, ACI 318, IBC, ASCE 7.
- Use of structural analysis tools (GTSTRUDL, STAAD.Pro).
- Familiarity with CAD tools and Tekla software.
- Understanding of CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.
- strong written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Level I:
- Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience, or
- 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience, or
- 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
