DSHS Fircrest Equipment Technician Supervisor

Join the hard-working team at Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center (RHC) in Shoreline, WA.
We need your leadership skills to supervise the Transportation Unit and assist in all aspects of fleet management, including strategic planning, formulating budgets, and developing replacement schedules within the Facilities, Finance, Technology and Analytics Administration (FTA) Maintenance & Operations Division .
Some of what you'll do
- Support and supervise truck drivers at Fircrest FHC.
- Maintain shop records for all vehicles and equipment.
- Schedule all deliveries and client trips.
- Create work orders and purchase requests.
- Track daily time logs.
- Assigns schedules and directs work of delivery drivers.
- Coordinate special moving projects within campus for clients and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who should apply?
- Professionals who have a valid driver's license and knowledge of inspecting commercial vehicles and heavy equipment prior to use.
- Three years of experience in related mechanical work. Trade or technical school training in related repair work may be substituted year for year for up two years of work experience.
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
- Must possess a Class A/B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with endorsement "P1 within the first six months of employment.
- Tanker Endorsement encouraged but not required.
- High school graduate or GED.
Desired
- Ability to supervise and manage staff
- Knowledge of rules of sale, operation of motorized equipment, state motor vehicles laws, methods and materials used in servicing automotive equipment, rules governing the operation of state vehicles, and dispatching vehicles, and operation of the Transportation Department
- Ability to operate trucks and construction equipment, make adjustments and minor repairs to automobiles, trucks, and other motorized equipment
