Zoo Electrician

Essential Functions:

Maintains, installs and repairs electrical systems, equipment and fixtures, and ensures that electrical codes are metExamples of Work:

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Installs new electrical service to comply with state and national codes
Removes and installs wiring to pumps and motors
Troubleshoots all electrical problems
Repairs light fixtures and ballasts
Installs temporary wiring for events
Aids in electrical design for new exhibits
Repairs wiring on carts, trams trains, etc
Performs related workPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
Lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds in a team setting

Minimum Requirements:

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
High school diploma or the equivalent
Electrician

Other Minimums:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Equivalency:

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
