Position Summary

The Sr. Creative Project Manager reports to the VP of Creative and owns holistic creative production strategy and execution to support evolving business objectives. This role oversees budgets and establishes scalable process frameworks, forecasting needs and managing resources to ensure all creative projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. As an expert communicator and leader, this manager builds trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, proactive feedback, and continuous improvement. As a subject matter expert, they drive selection and evolution of the right tools and own documentation and leadership of process across the Marketing team. The ideal candidate balances strategic vision with hands on execution, adapting to new challenges in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Alignment: Partner with the VP of Creative and Marketing to develop annual, quarterly, and monthly production plans that align with go-to-market strategies and ad hoc requests; ensure clarity in project scope, objectives, and stakeholder alignment around business priorities and trade-offs.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of creative projects (600+ annually), managing cross-functional teams to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards across still photography, video shoots, and multi-channel asset distribution. Own the process from intake mechanisms to delivery of final assets.
  • Resource & Task Allocation: Allocate resources effectively and manage task dependencies, using project management tools to track progress and maintain project momentum.
  • Risk Management and Escalation: Identify potential risks or blockers early, proactively develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues to leadership with clear trade-offs to support timely decision-making.
  • Vendor & Budget Management: Act as a trusted advisor and owner of creative budgets (production, contractors). Work with VP Creative, Finance and vendors to negotiate and optimize spending, control project costs to completion, and ensure we have the right roster of ongoing external partners.
  • Process Optimization & Communication: Continuously evaluate and refine workflows an ways of working for efficiency, maintain consistent communication with stakeholders, and provide updates on project status and performance metrics (where applicable).
  • Administration: Complete and/or delegate administrative tasks as needed to support creative work.

AZEK Co. is looking for an outstanding Sr. Creative Operations Manager to join our growing Creative Team based in Chicago, IL. In this role, you own planning, resourcing, production and distribution frameworks for creative assets to launch products and marketing campaigns supporting the AZEK’s Family of Brands (TimberTech, AZEK Exteriors, StruXure). Through strong leadership, strategic thinking, ownership, and collaboration you seamlessly partner with internal Project and Marketing managers, business teams and external vendors to plan and deliver innovative, bar-raising creative work to support our business objectives. Strong knowledge of the creative development process from concept to multi-channel delivery enables you to forecast needs and develop solutions for evolving complex, cross-functional, cross-category programs. As an expert communicator, you clearly define frameworks for ways of working cross-functionally including documented process (e.g. SOPs), roles, and deliverables holding all partners accountable, building trust through feedback loops and formalized continuous improvement. As a detail-oriented manager, you oversee multiple projects from start to finish for a variety of end uses including brick-and-mortar and digital retail, packaging, print and digital cross-channel marketing, video, events, seasonal and promotional campaigns. You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, leaning on your analytical, solution-focused abilities combined with a holistic understanding of resources and budget, to proactively identify potential risks, blockers and proactively present trade-off solutions. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in an agency or corporate creative environment.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple key stakeholders.
  • Expert organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite, and project management methodologies and supporting software.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities.
