- Perform engineering design evaluations and lead project engineering design, specific to Mechanical and HVAC Engineering.
- Have thorough knowledge of the applicable Building, Mechanical, HVAC, and Plumbing Codes.
- Design mechanical systems, conduct energy modeling analysis, and perform energy code compliance calculations.
- Prepare engineering analysis of projects including preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection.
- Prepare drawings and layouts; proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Prepare technical construction specifications.
- Coordinate with other disciplines both in-house and with outside consultants.
- Perform field observations as part of the construction quality assurance process.
- 4-year Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
- NC PE or ability to acquire NC PE quickly through reciprocity.
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- High technical ability, interested in technology and staying current in the field.
- Good ability to communicate and a self-starter.
- An interdisciplinary systems approach to engineering.
- Experience with financial metrics and data analytics.
- Experience in mechanical building systems and drawing sets in CAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with MEP work for buildings and comfortable with NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.
- Creative thinking and the ability to present ideas to the team, clients, and beyond.
