Mechanical Design Engineer

SpecCon Systems, Inc. is a locally owned manufacturing company located in Salisbury, NC, and centrally located between Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston Salem. SpecCon has been in business since 1997, has a stable workforce, and is positioned well for growth. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering group to help us increase our manufacturing capabilities and possibly lead us in new directions.

POSITION DETAILS:

• Design conveyor systems for material handling equipment primarily in the bottling and packaging industries.
• Design a variety of items related to “job shop” type work.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed Bills of Materials.
• Interface with the laser and CNC router with drawings and information to gain the greatest effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Work closely with purchasing to procure the right parts for the job.
• Assist in manufacturing in the design, assembly, and operations to ensure fit, form, and function at the highest quality level.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Five years experience in sheet metal fabrication.
• Five years experience using Solidworks.
• Five years Mechanical Design experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software. SOLIDWORKS experience is a must!
• Experience in conveyor systems.
• Experience with Pneumatics.
• Experience Sourcing materials for projects.
• Experience in CNC programming.
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Work in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to work with and produce multiple projects at the same time within time sensitive constraints and in a dynamic environment.
• Work ethic to provide the support necessary to complete jobs and deliver as scheduled.
• Experience preferred in relation to material handling conveyors as well as job shop type manufacturing.

EDUCATION:

· BS in Mechanical Engineering Design or equivalent preferred.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
