- Perform observation of construction personnel working on assigned areas of the construction site.
- Ensure construction work aligns with construction plans.
- Identify deficiencies in constructed structures.
- Review contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure construction timelines, costs, and materials comply with contract terms and conditions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Review the work of junior staff.
- Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and other construction-related risks.
- Prepare related reports, such as monthly progress reports.
- Maintain daily reports of construction activities.
- Communicate construction issues to project leadership.
- Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution.
- Communicate issue resolution to construction staff and close the loop with project leadership when documented issues are resolved.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction observation, inspection, or management.
- Bachelors Degree in related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read construction plans.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience on water treatment or wastewater plant projects is a plus.
- Experience working on piping replacement or repair projects for municipalities.
The work environment involves a full-time position on the job site at the water treatment plant. Expect to work 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours.
