Job Overview
PPD Restorations is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team and contribute to a variety of projects, primarily in Vancouvers Downtown Eastside. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and involves close collaboration with other team members.
The ideal candidate is experienced in both rough and finish carpentry, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you take pride in your craftsmanship and enjoy problem-solving on the job, wed love to hear from you!
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Carpentry & Construction
Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, casing, baseboards, cabinetry, doors, windows, stairs, board-ups, and more.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute projects efficiently.
Install doors, windows, flooring, trim, and millwork with precision.
Assist with drywall repairs, painting, and other general finishing tasks as needed.
Site & Project Work
Maintain proper records of completed work through company software.
Collaborate with project managers, tradespeople, and office staff to ensure smooth project execution.
Follow BC building codes and safety regulations to uphold high industry standards.
Tools & Equipment
Safely operate hand and power tools, including saws, drills, routers, and sanders.
Work with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, concrete, and composites.
Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Must Have:
Skills & Experience
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques used in carpentry and general construction.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on-site.
Familiarity with concrete forming, flooring installation, and roofing/siding is an asset.
Certifications & Requirements
Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions.
Occupational First Aid, WHMIS, or Fall Protection Certification is a plus.
Legally permitted to work in Canada.
Must Be:
Reliable and self-motivated.
Passionate about quality craftsmanship.
Personable, polite, and professional.
A strong communicator and team player.
Able to work independently as well as part of a crew.
