Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position will be located at our Richmond, VA facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,750 - $137,500 a year.

The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising the electrical design and development of product lines, contributing to project design, development, and prototype production. This role is essential in a cross-functional team, making key design decisions for integration. The Lead Electrical Engineer mentors junior staff, researches, evaluates, and documents design methods to meet standards and codes, and supports management throughout development.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to identify relevant industry standards and compliance requirements impacting product design.
- Lead product certification planning and testing process and support relevant Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs).
- Collaborate on design and implementation of engineering repository structure and Standard Operating Procedures for mechanical design including verification and validation.
- Support Production during cost/design for manufacturing analysis (DFMEA / DFSS).
- Work collaboratively with Electrical Engineers to optimize assembly and testing processes.
- Continuously update your knowledge by staying current with all relevant UL, IEEE, IEC, CSA, and DOE standards.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical design OR a Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years work experience in electrical design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing products from concept to manufacturing launch.
Skills:
- In depth knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) techniques.
- Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and test operations.
- Ability to understand the needs of the business and ability to make wise decisions to maintain customer satisfaction and Eaton quality and profitability
- Mentor - can work with less experienced engineers and designer to provide meaningful feedback about design implications
- Ability to work autonomously and shift to a team environment with the ability to work with other teams within Eaton
- Performs work with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail
- Communication - discuss technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders, strong verbal and written documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
