CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR - ENGIN

This position works under the direct supervision of the Assistant City Engineer and the City Engineer Director to inspect, monitor and manage construction projects for compliance with the City of Bartlett Standard Specifications. These projects may include (but are not limited to) Capital Improvement projects, Residential, Commercial, Industrial Land Development projects as well as street paving projects, bridge projects, concrete projects, utility projects, etc. This employee will also respond to citizen drainage complaints. We are seeking a good team player who works well under pressure and can represent the Engineering Department well to the public. Must be proficient in construction plans review. Daily monitoring and inspection of various land development and Municipal construction projects. Will be inspecting projects for compliance with erosion prevention and sediment control (EPSC). As well as other assigned and requested duties. Requires a minimum of two (2) years' experience in Municipal Construction or some closely related field as well as experience in dealing properly with the public. Experience using a PC and Microsoft office software. Must possess a valid TN driver's license that must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Outside work in all weather conditions is required on a regular basis. May need to lift items of 50 lbs. or less. Must pass a background and driver's license check and a physical exam, including a drug screen. Will work in a smoke-free work environment. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.
