Plumber

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a full timePlumber. This position performs work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems.

Routine work assignments will involve repairs of:

  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Kitchen equipment
  • Supply water installation and repairs
  • Repairing of sanitary sewer lines that are large scale, from drain line to manhole

The Plumber will mostly work independently when performing routine work, but larger scope projects will be supervised by foreman. Work is reviewed by foreman through inspection of work in progress and based on satisfactory operation of equipment repaired or installed.

Normal working hours are Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, flexibility in work schedule may be required for training, supervision or to meet hospital needs.

  • 2 years' experience with the installation and/or repair of plumbing systems

Management Prefers candidates with the following:

  • Experience with maintenance plumbing, commercial plumbing and/or industrial plumbing

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years' experience in the repair,

Broughton Hospital operates 382 beds and is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.
