Maintenance Shop Night Supervisor Description Night Shift Supervisor Job Summary Supervises all maintenance personnel assigned to the night shift operations. Works under the supervision of the Shop Superintendent and Manager and coordinates requirements with the day shift production and maintenance department. Communicates all night shift Shop/equipment events and activities by writing a thorough report at the end of each night shift. The Night Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining safety and environmental standards. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities Oversee the extraction and processing of materials, ensuring that production targets are met. Order parts and maintain maintenance schedule. Supervise and manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure that all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations. Implement and monitor environmental policies to minimize the impact of operations on the surrounding environment. Manage the budget, including cost control and financial planning. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment. Prepare and present reports on operations, including production data, safety incidents, and financial performance. Supervise all maintenance personnel assigned to the night shift operations. Communicate all night shift shop/equipment events and activities by writing a thorough report at the end of each night shift. Supervise night shop personnel in conducting daily repairs and servicing requirements. Track equipment hours to service rolling stock and crushers at the correct intervals. Facilitate training of junior employees by monitoring their aptitude, coaching them on weaknesses, and recommending training sessions. Maintain awareness of environmental control requirements and direct procedures to maintain compliance. Assist with daily production and labor reporting. Ensure compliance with labor bargaining agreements and take direct action when necessary. Keep shop and other service areas clean and hold technicians accountable for a clean shop. Participate in creating a safe work environment and conduct regular safety meetings. Work with security officers and on-site personnel regarding plant security.
