Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate must have experience in finite element modeling using Abaqus CAE and a strong background in mechanical or structural analysis. Rate Range: $47.37/hour to $52.37/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Mechanical Engineer job responsibilities include: Develop detailed finite element models using Abaqus CAE for mechanical, structural, and thermal simulations. Perform pre-processing and post-processing of complex simulations, ensuring accurate model setup and meshing. Apply expert meshing techniques and scripting to automate and optimize modeling workflows. Develop material models using test data and troubleshoot modeling issues. Collaborate with engineering teams to refine models and improve simulation accuracy and efficiency. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in finite element modeling using Abaqus CAE. Proficiency in model preparation, meshing, material modeling, and load applications. Experience with NX CAD for geometry preparation and cleanup. Experience with ANSA and Hypermesh is a strong plus. Bachelor's Degree. Preferred Skills: Background in mechanical design or structural analysis. Familiarity with other FEA tools such as ICEPAK or COMSOL. Experience with composite materials modeling.
