Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to efficiently operate and set up presses. The role involves setting dies, adjusting strokes, and attaching and adjusting safety equipment on the machinery. You will work with parts that are similar in nature but vary in size or detail. Additionally, obtaining first piece inspection release, checking work during runs for dimensions, burrs, cracking, or buckling, and visually inspecting components for damage or defects are key aspects of this position. Responsibilities Operate and set up punch press machines to manufacture parts for industrial fans. Set dies and adjust strokes on presses. Attach and adjust safety equipment on machinery. Inspect work during production for dimensions, burrs, cracking, or buckling. Visually inspect components for damage or defects. Perform multiple set-ups and be familiar with different size dies. Make adjustments during production to ensure quality. Troubleshoot and resolve issues without disrupting production flow. Operate a sit-down forklift for material handling. Essential Skills Experience as a machine operator. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in machine setup and operation. Knowledge of tool and die processes. Experience with punch press operations. Forklift operation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with various die sizes and machine adjustments. It is a hot, non-temperature-controlled setting. The position is available in two shifts: First Shift runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential work on Saturdays if necessary. Second Shift operates from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Initial training occurs on the First Shift for about 1-2 weeks. The company has a climate-controlled and modernized office area. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
