Position Description

Position Summary:

Prepares material associated with structural steel and bridge fabrication. Uses a variety of methods to finish, prime and paint fabricated steel products, according to established standards.

Essential Functions:

Operator will keep in-process material flowing through the system

Prepares metal surfaces for painting by sanding, smoothing and cleaning as necessary.

Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.

Follows standard safety procedures. Corrects safety and environmental hazards and reports them to supervision immediately

Cleans spraying equipment and brushes, with solvent. Keeps equipment in good working order. Notifies maintenance department when repairs are necessary.

Operates overhead crane, forklift and various other equipment in a safe manner

Position Requirements

Lifts up to 80lbs. on a regular basis. Standing, bending & Stooping.

Is able to meet established deadlines in a reasonable manner.

Follow company quality, quantity and safety rules and regulations.
