JOB SUMMARY:
The Shift Supervisor oversees all production personnel on their assigned shift. Ensures the efficiency of the production area and directs personnel on Food Safety and Personal Safety compliance. To be proficient in this position, an individual must complete DakotaMBs comprehensive training program.
This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive Position because the employees performance can directly affect their safety and the safety of others. This position will be operating heavy machinery, responsible for handling potentially dangerous tools, while working or being around others. Due to the job-related employment responsibilities of this specific position, we are unable to accommodate regarding Medical Marijuana and other prescriptions that could result in impairment.

ESSENTISAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensures workers comply with company policies (GMP, SQF, & Personal Safety). Will alert the Production Manager of potential production or personnel issues.
2. Reviews daily logbook and meets with Operations Analyst prior to shift start for review of shipping schedule.
3. Audits shift production paperwork and time clock edits.
a. Ensures the accuracy of shift production sheets.
b. Ensures the accuracy of cost codes and investigates missed time clock punches.
4. Prepare production area for personnel.
a. Ensures production lines are properly supplied.
b. Assigns production personnel to designated work areas with instruction on assignments.
c. Performs checks on equipment prior to start up.
5. Manages production area efficiencies.
a. Operates and directs the flow of bulk flour and sugar.
b. Maintains production lines are properly supplied (labels, bags, product, labor).
c. Ensures personnel are staying on task.
d. Addresses any maintenance issues that affect production.
e. Monitors batch reports and checks for accuracy.
6. Shall ensure the daily functions to maintain all food safety objectives and The SQF Code are adhered to.
7. Performs any task the supervisor deems necessary for completion or modification of a project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of two years of experience in commercial food manufacturing and/or production.
2. Minimum of five years supervisory and training experience.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated abilities with computers to operate Microsoft Excel and Word.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly manages all manufacturing personnel on their assigned shift.

Employee must be able to move about the production and warehouse areas to observe and effectively communicate with team members where noise level is moderate to high.
Work is performed in a sheltered and climate-controlled production environment. While in production and warehouse areas staff will frequently be exposed to grain dust. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high, noise protection is required in designated areas of production.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
