Project Manager

Supporting large scale, Historic Preservation Projects in Washington, DC. 10 years of progressive experience as a Project Manager.

Job Description

As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage project teams, ensuring the safe completion of assigned projects within budget, on schedule, and to quality standards. You will play a vital role in the construction project team, developing high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring. You will communicate effectively with owners, architects, and subcontractors, overseeing project risk, timetables, costs/budgets, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff, including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
  • Provide leadership in motivating the project team and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Communicate with owners, architects, and subcontractors regarding project risk, timetables, costs/budgets, and change management.
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Establish project staffing requirements and create work plans and schedules for each project phase.
  • Prepare project manuals, work category descriptions, and other components for bid packages.
  • Manage the CM bid process, including post-bid reviews.
  • Assess and maintain client relationships to understand construction leadership and facility maintenance needs.
  • Manage owner communications related to project risks, schedules, budgets, and logistics.
  • Coordinate development and delivery of project planning services with the Project Planning Leader.
  • Oversee timely and accurate processing of project information documents.
  • Review client needs against contractual obligations and delivery of professional management services.
  • Establish subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors.
  • Clarify expectations and performance requirements through written documents and meetings.
  • Lead trade contractor relations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by leveraging professional network and client relationships.
  • Promote professional development and manage assigned staff toward maximum performance.
  • Establish an environment supporting questions and learning in the context of project goals and schedules.
  • Provide motivational and constructive feedback to team members.

Essential Skills

  • Project management experience in engineering and construction management.
  • Degree in AEC or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with projects valued at $10 million or more.
  • General construction experience, including federal construction, ground-up, and roofing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with AOC work.
  • Historic preservation experience is a significant advantage.

Work Environment

Work on construction sites supporting AOC work, with the current project located at The Dirksen House. This project has 18 months remaining, after which you will transition to another project. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/hr.
