Mechanical Drafter

Actalent is hiring for a MECHANICAL DRAFTER for an Aerospace client located in Longueuil. QC.

As a Drafting Integrator, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) process. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of 3D models into a comprehensive digital engine design. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and ensuring that engines are sent to customers for fit checks within airplanes, as well as utilizing the Engine Mock-Up (EMU) to verify compatibility with nacelles. This role also involves the creation of assembly drawings, highlighting sections in 2D visuals, and identifying interfaces (called "fits") between parts. You will present all GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) in clear tables for review.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to support New Product Introductions (NPI).

- Create and manage the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) and Engine Mock-Up (EMU).

- Review and integrate 3D models of individual components into a unified digital engine.

- Provide customers with digital engine models for fit verification in aircraft and nacelle systems.

- Develop assembly drawings from the DMU, including 2D sectional views.

- Identify and document interfaces ("fits") between components.

- Present all GD&T data in well-organized tables for effective communication.

- Ensure accuracy and structural integrity of the engine's 3D digital assembly.

- Collaborate on design improvements and provide feedback for optimization.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Technical education (DEC)

- 3+ years of experience

- 3D Modeling and 2D Drafting experience

- Catia
