The Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As the Carpenter you will perform all types of carpentry work, including skilled rough and finished remodeling, maintenance, repair, and construction of the building, cabinetry, or furniture. Duties include: + Repair any and all damaged doors, windows, screens, window frames, locks, and door closures + Perform rough carpentry on remodeling sites by framing, hanging sheetrock, and installing window and door frames + Perform finish carpentry by constructing and installing new cabinets, casings, and jambs for doors and windows. + Install countertops, ceiling tile, moldings and base boards. + Lay carpet, floor tiles, and thresholds Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center is a secure inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency. Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike. **Minimum Qualifications** + Must have a valid driver's license; AND + Completion of an approved apprenticeship in carpentry OR three and one-half years' experience as a carpenter OR + Completion of two-year vocational/technical program in carpentry, plus two years of experience as a carpenter; OR + Completion of one year of vocational/technical program in carpentry, plus three years of experience as a carpenter. If you have completed an apprenticeship, you must provide the date of completion. All experience must include rough and finish carpentry to qualify. Carpentry skills will be assessed against the standards listed below: + Ability to read and understand construction, remodeling and repair project plans, blueprints and specifications sufficient to draft, interpret, modify and follow to complete new construction, remodeling, and other carpentry projects by following standard construction practices of the carpentry trade. + Experience in the installation and repair of commercial doors, door frames, and related hardware as well as commercial windows, frames. + Experience with the installation of flooring. + Experience with the construction and repair of cabinets, millwork and furniture. + Experience in operating medium duty construction equipment **Preferred Qualifications** Our employees are dedicated to ensuring cultural responsiveness.
