Position Title: Senior Commercial HVAC Technician

Position Summary:

The Senior Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and building automation controls. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to commercial clients. The technician will work independently or as part of a team, often leading projects and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, and building automation controls.

Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.

Lead or assist with installing and commissioning new HVAC equipment and retrofits.

Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical system issues using advanced diagnostic tools and schematics.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, codes, and environmental regulations, including EPA guidelines.

Accurately document work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service.

Communicate effectively with clients, clearly explaining issues, solutions, and maintenance recommendations.

Mentor and train junior technicians and apprentices as needed.

Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency service requests.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in HVAC preferred.

Minimum 8 but 10 + preferred years of commercial HVAC service experience required

Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and building automation platforms (e.g., Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Vykon Niagara) .

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Proficiency with digital diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights as required.

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly wage: $40-$58 per hour, based on experience and certifications.
