Candidates must have an active Professional Engineer (PE) License as well as prior proven experience with Business Development (BD/BDM) . Job Description: As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will serve as both a technical leader and a business development driver. You will design innovative HVAC and plumbing systems, manage project teams, and play a key role in proposal development and client relationship management. Key Responsibilities: Design and oversee HVAC and plumbing systems across various project types. Lead multiple projects concurrently - maintaining schedules and budgets. Collaborate with business development and discipline leads on proposals and strategy. Develop project scopes , fees , and qualification-based proposals . Interpret and prepare mechanical drawings, sections, isometric piping plans, and materials lists. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and client-specific standards. Perform system calculations and modeling using industry-standard software. Foster strong relationships with clients, project partners, and team members. Support and mentor junior engineers and designers. Represent the firm at industry events, client meetings, and professional associations. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required. 10+ years of experience in mechanical systems design, with HVAC and plumbing expertise. Proven business development experience - including client-facing consulting and proposal work. Experience with AutoCAD , Revit , and Load Calculation Software . Familiarity with mechanical , plumbing , and energy codes . Strong project management capabilities and excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal support tools is a plus. Local authority (AHJ) knowledge and industry involvement is a plus. Willingness to travel up to 10% . Compensation & Benefits: Approximate Base Salary - $95K-$143K based on experience. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance. Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change). 401(k) with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
